Port Jersey Railroad Overview

 The Port Jersey Railroad Division of New York New Jersey Rail is a wholly owned entity of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.  As part of the national rail network, we connect America’s shippers, suppliers, and distributors with the Metropolitan New York – New Jersey market.  Our 1.6 mile rail switching line, and spurs, operate completely within the Port Jersey Warehouse and Industrial District of Jersey City, NJ.

Founded in 1970, the 55 year old railroad was acquired by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey in late 2010 and continues to serve, grow, and help customer’s grow within its namesake district.  PJR’s location provides quick and convenient access to the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 440.
